So I’ve landed back at my alma mater as a computer technician for the second time. It’s nice to know that things haven’t changed, including the fact that all of my stuff is still here from 10 years ago. It’s much like a time capsule that I sealed up many years ago. I guess on the bright side, I’m the one cleaning up the leftovers.

As of now, I am fighting with Autodesk to get the correct licensing information for their product. I don’t know why it takes them so damn long to come back with the info considering I have a copy of the purchase order showing that the site paid roughly $20,000 for the software package. Where’s the thinking needed for that… it was bought and paid for in 2009, give me the license.

Some days my job makes it difficult to enjoy it. :) But I suppose so does everyone else’s job. Enjoy your day.

Assumption

It’s one of those things we’re all guilty of: assumption. Using what knowledge we have we assume that we know enough to go in to a situation and give our advice or opinion. However, assumption is probably more like fortune telling.

Take for instance an incident that happened not 20 minutes ago in my neighborhood. Some random guy, most likely from the house behind my neighbor, comes racing around the corner in his Explorer, parks half-assed in my neighbors driveway, flies out of it and begins to start pounding on their door.

After no one answers, he decides to go over to the other neighbor and beat on his door. This time that neighbor answers. The man accuses him of allowing his dog to bark all night. At this point the neighbor yells at the man letting him know that it’s not his dog that was barking and he can go shove a “boner up his ass.” After exchanging some other pleasantries, the man gets in his Explorer and hauls off at probably 50 mph through the neighborhood.

This is a prime example of why you shouldn’t assume as you may have a boner shoved up your ass. I’m just sayin’.

Traffic and Armageddon

So with the movie 2012 being released I’ve figured that it’s going to be strictly about bad drivers. Because the way I see it, with drivers being as bad as they are now, the trend would indicate that they would get worse as time goes on. And since it looks like a daily degradation of driving skill, 2012 will be the year when people forget totally how to drive and kill each other

Zombie email accounts

Okay, so it would appear that I’m on a roll today… my back hurts, and now I find that some random-@$$ person from Latvia signs up for my blog… My first reaction was excitement. I thought, “Wow, someone is actually starting to read my blog!!” Not that my blog is much to look at, if I’m honest, but it’s mine… :)

After some searching for this random ass email address, I find that this person has signed up for hundreds of other blogs too… all within the last few days… IT’S OBVIOUSLY A SPAMBOT! I was pissed! I will not have my blog mined by some spam bot… DEATH TO SPAM BOTS!!!

Being tired sucks

Wife got the HTC Droid Eris

So after playing around with my phone, my wife was really excited about it. So we went back to Verizon and she got the Droid Eris. It is the first phone that I’ve ever seen her enjoy, which makes me happy.

If you are on Verizon, and you’ve always wanted the iPhone… DO NOT WANT! Just go get one of the Droid Phones and you’ll be happy you did.

Verizon (Moto) Droid is Awesome

So Friday I headed down to Verizon and got the Motorola Droid after my wife forced me in to getting it. :)

The Droid has to be, by far, the best phone that Verizon has ever offered, period. The Market has may software titles to offer, and the phone is quick. People have complained about battery life, or the fact that some of the apps in the Market are junk… but that is a similar argument for the iPhone.

Overall, I think that the Droid is a great, solid phone that is definitely worth buying.

So I just received my invite for Google Wave today… it’s actually neat… a bit confusing, but neat… I’ve been sending crap to people all day, but no one has responded to any of my ‘Waves.’

So I decided to rename the site… I find that when I focus on the negative it gets me down… so I’m adding a twist to the blog… I’m going to include things that are worthy of praise. It’s not going to be mushy crap, but things that are really neat and should get some recognition. Let’s see how this flies.

Don’t get me wrong… I’m extremely grateful for having a job… extremely… but, some days it seems that work just really bites the big one. Especially when I get brought into something that I didn’t start, but then it’s my fault because I was involved… man I hate that. I can’t/don’t want to be more specific than that… I’m just irritated is all. Meh.
